Mirwais Balkhi, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) and Mr. Mohammad Nabi Rasooli, Head of Protocol section of the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi participated in 25th anniversary of the Garden City University (GCU) in Bangalore, Karnataka on July 28, 2017.

Speaking as chief guest, DCM Balkhi thanked the university leadership for accepting and supporting Afghan students, who have joined the university via scholarships and on private basis and solicited to continue cooperation in future too.

Mr. Balkhi included that considering the slogan (University of Knowledge), the GCU can practically support those Afghan toppers and facilitate scholarships for them.

The Deputy Chief of Mission also met with Dr. J. Joseph, Founder and President-GCU, Prof. Coutinho, Deputy Chief-GCU, Mr. Joseph, Head of Finance Department- GCU over this trip. During these meetings, views were exchanged in regards to support and cooperation of the GCU to the Afghan higher education system.

Inaugurated in 1992, the GCU starting operation under Bangalore’s government university and considering its 25 years activities, it was upgraded to an independent university.
