H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, accompanied by a number of relevant delegations, visited India on January 31 - February 4, 2016.

At the invitation of India Foundation H.E. Dr. Abdullah participated and spoke at Counterterrorism Conference (CTC 2016) held in Jaipur.

Making remarks as the keynote speaker, Afghanistan's Chief Executive focused on counterterrorism, radicalization, regional cooperation, and need for enhanced Indo-Afghan relations.

H.E. Dr. Abdullah called upon the Indian Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and separately met with the country's External Affairs' Minister and National Security Adviser.

In his meetings with the said authorities, H.E. Dr. Abdullah discussed issues of mutual interest and concern, as well as the strengthening of the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Afghanistan's Chief Executive spoke at an economic conference, organized by CII, ASSOCHAM and FICCI in coordination with the Afghan embassy's Economic Dept. H.E. Dr. Abdullah addressed participants from both countries' chambers of commerce. He focused on Indian private investment in various sectors of Afghanistan, the potential of the new Chabahar trade route, and smooth import and export regimes.

During this visit two MoUs were signed which provided for visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders of the two countries and cooperation between the two countries' chambers of commerce, ACCI and ASSOCHAM.


The accompanying delegation of the Afghan government Chief Executive included the country's Minister of Commerce and Industries Mr. Humayoun Rasaw, Senior Adviser to the CEO Mr. Mustafa Mastoor, Chairman of AISA Mr. Qurban Haqjo, and the Spokesperson of the Chief Executive's office Dr. Mujiburahman Rahimi.
