Afghanistan participated in the “SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council Bazaar” international exhibition for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) members held on September 19, 2018 in New Delhi.

The  two-day exhibition was  organized by FLO-Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and supported by Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) was inaugurated by the officials and business entities of SAARC members, including Afghanistan.

This exhibition was aimed at promoting  women entrepreneurs in the South Asian region by bringing them together under one roof and providing an attractive platform to showcase products.

 The women entrepreneurs from Afghanistan showcased handicrafts, carpets, saffron, dry fruits and traditional outfits in four stalls.

Other countries participated in this exhibition which had displayed their products included Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India.

It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Afghanistan are members to SCWEC since its establishment on March 29, 2001. SCWEC aims at developing and promoting women entrepreneurs in the South Asian region.
