Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New Delhi met with K.K. Singh, Chairman-International Youth Committee of India (IYCI) on August 7, 2018.

The meeting aimed at discussing the Second South Asian Youth Summit and extended invitation to the Ambassador to grace the summit as a key speaker.

The summit which is due to be held from 28-30 November 2018 in Colombo city, Sri Lanka will be attended by the youth from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.

While appreciating IYCI for its efforts in organizing such summits and conferences, in enabling opportunities for the South Asian youth - the Afghan youth in particular- to exchange views and share experiences on international platforms, Dr. Abdali spoke about the significance of youth’s role in boosting growth and development for nation building.  Referring to the activities carried out by the South Asian youth’s aim is to  bring a positive change  in the region, the Afghan Ambassador spoke about the young generation of Afghanistan, their thirst for peace and change, and their endeavor in order to build their country and the region.

During the meeting, the Afghan Ambassador thanked the government of India for its assistance in building the capacities of Afghan youth and assured the IYCI Chairman for his probable participation in the Second South Asian Youth Summit.
