Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to India extended his condolences for the loss of 17 Sikh and Hindu Afghans in a recent attack in Afghanistan. He participated in a gathering held in Guru Arjan Dev Ji Kabuli Gurdwara, New Delhi on July 4, 2018.

In his remarks, the Afghan Ambassador expressed his sorrow over the loss of 17 Sikh and Hindu Afghans including Awtar Singh, the representative of the Sikh and Hindu community in  Afghanistan and the candidature to the upcoming parliamentary elections in Afghanistan. He further stated that “Late Awtar Singh wasn’t only representing the Sikh and Hindu communities in the country, but was the representative of the whole country.”

 Reflecting on the personality of Awtar Singh, the Afghan Ambassador termed him a true Afghan, a hero and a real patriot whose path will be followed by all other Afghans.

Dr. Abdali called upon the Sikh and Hindu communities in Afghanistan to choose another representative in order to replace Awtar Singh to run for the Afghan parliament.

This gathering was also attended by Afghan diplomats and the Indian government officials.
