On a different occasion during the tour to Maharashtra, Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to India met the Afghan diaspora and inaugurated the Pashtun Trust in Mumbai, Maharashtra on April 9, 2018.

At the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by more than 1000 Afghan diaspora residing in Mumbai, the Afghan Ambassador spoke about their prominent role, duty and responsibility towards further strengthening the cultural and people-to-people relations between Afghanistan and India.

Dr. Abdali urged the Afghan diaspora in Mumbai to remain united and educate the Afghan youth for a brighter prospects in the future.

The trust was founded 70 years ago by the Afghan diaspora living in Mumbai. It was reinvigorated to work towards uniting and improving the lives of Afghan diaspora in Mumbai, particularly with focus on education, culture, health and other facilities.
