Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to India, Riva Ganguly Das, Director General-Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Kumar Vikas Saxena, Director- Empowerment organization inaugurated the India-Afghanistan Women Artist Show held at ICCR-Azad Bhavan on March 5, 2018.

The Women Artist show, aimed at showcasing the art and cultural commonalities of India and Afghanistan and to commemorate the International women’s day was organized by the Empowerment organization with the financial support of India-Afghanistan Foundation.

As the chief guest of the show, the Afghan Ambassador lauded the art pieces of the Afghan and Indian female artists showcased at the event and spoke about Afghan women’s achievements and their contribution for the development of Afghanistan post-2001.

Referring to the cultural commonalities between India and Afghanistan, Dr. Abdali termed the relations as “unique” throughout the history and added that it is our generation’s responsibility to further strengthen the relations with facilities available.

Dr. Abdali thanked the Empowerment organization for conducting such show and hoped to have more such shows in order to boost the cultural relations between the two nations.

 The show was attended by 5 Afghan women showcasing their paintings along with 5 women from India.
