Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to India Spoke at  St. Stephen’s College dialogue “The Dialog” on February 20, 2018.

Focusing on “Situating Power and Governance in Global World”, the Afghan Ambassador also highlighted the bilateral ties between India and Afghanistan during his speech.

Noting upon the current situation in the world with the prevailing challenges and opportunities, Dr. Abdali spoke about the role of Afghanistan, India and United States-as three strategic partners-in fighting major problems, especially terrorism in the region and the world. He termed the U.S. policy for Afghanistan and South Asia a comprehensive policy towards countering terrorism and its state sponsors and added: “Currently, Afghanistan, India and U.S.  are working together to implement this policy and create a regional consensus to bring peace and stability to the region and the world.”

The Afghan Ambassador touched on the different dimensions of economic transition from West to East, lauded India’s multi-dimensional policy for the same and emphasized on collaboration of the regional countries in order to succeed this shift.
