H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali received in his office representatives of two Delhi – Based hospitals to discuss concerns and solutions to the issues today.

As a part of a series of meetings with Delhi – based hospitals, Ambassador Abdali received representatives of Fortis Hospital and Max Healthcare to discuss issues of concern and exchange views on addressing them.

As a part of the series of meetings the Embassy of Afghanistan has conducted with Hospitals in Delhi, H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali met with representatives of Moolchand and Apollo Hospitals on July 9 and 13 respectively.

Ambassador Abdali received in his office Mr. Vibhu Talwar, Chief Operation Officer of Moolchand Hospital on July 9 and Mr. Jaideep Gupta Managing Director of Apollo Hospital on July 13.

In both meetings Ambassador Abdali raised many concerning issues with the representatives of the hospitals and exchanged views on addressing them.

As India is emerging as an increasingly major medical tourist destination for patients all over the world including Afghanistan, the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi takes measures to ensure good and transparent service is delivered to the country’s citizens.

H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali separately received the Director of BLK Hospital Mr. Naresh Kapoor and the CEO of Dharamshila Hospital Dr. Sandeep Chatrath, today in his office to discuss issues of concern.

Also present in these meetings were the embassy’s Economic Counselor Mr. Syed Mujtaba Ahmadi, the embassy’s Press Secretary Mr. Zubair Juenda, and the embassy’s Commercial Attaché Mr. Fardin Zalali.

As part of the continued rapport between the Economic Dept. of the Embassy of Afghanistan and Federation of Indian Export Organization, a meeting was organized between the active working members at the Embassy of Afghanistan.

Mr. Sayed Mujtaba Ahmadi, the Economic Counselor at the Embassy received Mr. Vinod Pal, Director (FIEO) and Mrs. Sunita Tatwal, Assistant director.

During the meeting Mr. Ahmadi recognized and acknowledged FIEO’s role in establishing a bridge for the traders who are looking forward for convenient and easy access into the Indian and Afghan markets.

He discussed the potentiality of different sectors vital to both the countries.

Mr. Pal thanking Mr. Ahmadi for the continued support also told him about the willingness of Indian Traders looking forward to this programme and explained him about the modality of the programme as well. He also shared with Mr. Ahmadi the details of people participating in the event who are from different trade channels such as engineering, textiles, handicraft, communications and people from civil services sector, Ministry of External Affairs and Commerce Ministry.

Prior to this FIEO had organized an interactive session on “Doing Business with Afghanistan” in October 2014 which received an overwhelming response from the Indian Traders and Businessmen. Now, they are looking forward to organize a similar programme during the end of this month and have proposed to invite H.E Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Afghan Ambassador as the Chief Guest to deliver the keynote address at the event and to explain the business and investment opportunities which are available for the Indian traders in Afghanistan.

H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali met in his office with the President of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Ms. Archana Garodia Gupta today.

Ms. Gupta accompanied by FLO Vice Chairperson Ms. Vavsi Bharat Ram called upon Ambassador Abdali to discuss the progress in the arrangements previously made between the Afghan mission in New Delhi and the organisation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Abdali was accompanied by the embassy’s Economic Counselor Mr. Syed Mujtaba Ahmadi and Press Secretary Mr. Zubair Juenda.

Ambassador Abdali welcoming the FLO President thanked her for organizing a fruitful event for the Afghan First Lady while she visited New Delhi early this year.

The two sides discussed and exchanged views on issues related to the areas of cooperation between the organization and Afghan women.

The Afghan mission and the said organization early this year discussed expanding relations between FLO and Afghan women.  Under the arrangements discussed FLO will assist Afghanistan’s relevant institutions in the area of women empowerment in socio-economic field and provide them with trainings as well as ground for education and skill development.

Ms. Gupta informed the Afghan Ambassador of the exhibitions called FLO Bazar due to take place in some major India cities, in which the organization consider to allot space stalls for a number of Afghan women.

The Afghan Ambassador thanking Ms. Gupta said that the embassy’s relevant section will follow up on the issue.

The FLO President also briefed the Afghan Ambassador on a SAARC Exhibition due to be held later this year, sharing their desire to extend invitation to the Afghan First Lady.

Both sides agreed that the mission and the organization will follow up on the issues and remain in regular contact.

Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) launched a report on South Asia Development and Cooperation, today at India Habitat Centre.

H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali accompanied by the embassy’s Economic Counselor Mr. Syed Mujtaba Ahmadi and Press Secretary Mr. Zubair Juenda attended a panel discussion on the occasion of the report launch.

Following the welcome address by Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, RIS Chairman Ambassador Shyam Saran talked about the report.  The RIS Chairman spoke about the pessimistic global perception on South Asia, and the alternate narrative offered by the report.  He focused on the reasons behind the perceived low performing region.

Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) held “India Medi-Tourism Meet 2015” today, at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

The theme of the event was “Promoting Brand India in Medical Tourism, Technological Integration and Skill Development”

On 15 June 2015, Mr. Sayed Mujtaba Ahmadi, the Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to India, attended a conference titled “Afghanistan Reconnected: Businesses Take Action to Unlock Trade in the Region” convened by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in partnership with Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and EastWest Institute (EWI) in New Delhi.
