Ambassador Shaida Mohammad Abdali delivered a speech on “Afghan Diaspora in India: Issues and Challenges” at a special training program for Afghan diplomats which was organized by Foreign Service Institute (FSI) - Ministry of External Affairs, India.

At the outset, Dr. Abdali thanked FSI for organizing a special training program to build the capacity of Afghan diplomats. 

During his speech, Ambassador Abdali touched upon the deep routed people-to-people relations between India and Afghanistan and added, Rabindranath Tagore’s everlasting novel “Kabuliwala one of the finest Indian philosophers is an example Indo-Afghan relations.”

Dr. Abdali appraised for providing different educational programs as well as technical and professional trainings conducted by the Indian government in order to build the capacity of Afghans.

The Afghan Ambassador also noted upon Indian government’s agreement for establishing an Afghan Consulate in Hyderabad city, India to address the concern of Afghan students residing there.

Dr. Abdali also noted upon the challenges ahead of Afghans traveling for medical treatments in India and thanked India for its cooperation in addressing those concerns.

It is worth mentioning that 12 Afghan diplomats are here to participate in this special training program conducted by FSI, from December 11-22, 2017.
